The True Color Art Museum is a non-profit art and cultural institution privately invested and constructed by Mr. Chen Hanxing and operated and managed by a professional team. It is mainly dedicated to promoting the exploration of Chinese contemporary art in terms of experimentation and attempts to actively cross boundaries in multiple art forms, including painting, sculpture, installation, performance art, photography, video, architecture, design, music, etc.
The art museum is located by the canal and built along the water. It covers an area of 13 mu. The main structure is formed by connecting three cubes. The facade is made of more than one million blue bricks with concave and convex mosaics. The bluish-gray texture makes the entire building’s momentum restrained yet full of tension, complementing the surrounding natural ecology such as rivers, lakes, and residential houses.
The art museum has a clear division of functions, including an entrance hall, a theme exhibition area, an image hall, an office area, artist studios and apartments, a member club, a coffee shop, an art store, etc. The spaces are cleverly connected yet relatively independent, suitable for large exhibitions and themed solo exhibitions. The concept of environmental protection and ecology is fully highlighted in the architectural concept. The extensive application of ancient wood and old bricks makes the entire building simple and natural. Traditional elements and contemporary concepts are wonderfully combined here.
Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 – 17:00 throughout the year; Closed all day on Monday throughout the year.
