The Taibai Lake Scenic Area in Jining is located at the junction of four provinces: Jiangsu, Shandong, Henan, and Anhui. It is south of the vast and misty Weishan Lake. To the north, it is adjacent to Mount Tai, the most respected of the Five Sacred Mountains. To the east, it is connected to Qufu, the hometown of Confucius. To the west, it is close to Liangshan by the water. It is a newly emerging tourist attraction in Shandong Province and is known as a bright pearl on the land of southwestern Shandong.

The total area of the Taibai Lake Scenic Area is 22 square kilometers, and the water area is 8.9 square kilometers. It is at the northern end of Nansi Lake, a relatively large freshwater lake in northern China. Li Bai, a great literary master in the Tang Dynasty, lived in Jining for twenty-three years and left a hundred poems. To commemorate this great poet, this lake is specially named ‘Taibai Lake’.

The Taibai Lake Scenic Area is rich in resources, with more than 80 kinds of fish, more than 130 kinds of resident birds, and more than 300 kinds of various zooplankton and aquatic plants. After years of development, the Taibai Lake Scenic Area has now developed into an ecological tourist area integrating sightseeing, leisure and vacation, wetland protection, and water purification.
