Taihuwan Tourism and Holiday Resort is located in Xueyan Town, Wujin, bordered by Taihu Lake to the south, adjacent to the national tourism resort area of Wuxi Mashan to the east, and connected to the pottery capital Yixing Fen Shui to the west. It is characterized by low hills and rolling terrain, with mountain ranges primarily originating from Tianmu Mountain in Zhejiang, accounting for 66% of the total area.
The region boasts lush plant growth and excellent vegetation, with over a hundred species of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants, as well as more than 70 species of birds. Specialties include the Taihu ‘three whites’ (whitefish, white shrimp, and silverfish), Yanghu water peach, and Yanghu Xinyue green tea. The resort is approximately 7 kilometers long along the lakeshore, featuring 19 hilltops, 11 valleys, 8 reservoirs of various sizes, 7 bays facing the lake, and two islands, Da Jiaoshan and Xiao Jiaoshan, in the lake.The area is rich in cultural heritage, with historical sites such as the He Lu City from the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, the Song Dynasty’s Gui Shan Academy and Liaoliao Temple, the tomb of Wang Xiaozi, Emperor Chen Lie’s tomb, Mei Tang, and Yan Dun, as well as the martyr monument and former residence of Dong Yixiang, and the former residence of Wu Zhihui. Taihuwan Tourism and Holiday Resort is mainly composed of six functional areas: Yongfeng Water District, Longwan Resort Area, River Culture Area, Pangu Central Area, Digital Culture Area, and Urban Development Control Area. The resort also has well-equipped hotel facilities such as Taihuwan Jinling Hotel, Zhushan Lake Resort, and Zhushan Lake Town. It was awarded the title of ‘National Tourism Business Card’ in 2007.
The main attractions in the resort include: Chinese Filial Piety Garden, Universal Cartoon Happy Valley, Zhushan Lake Town, Dragon Boat Competition Base, and Wanze Taihu Manor. The resort is open all year round from 08:45 to 17:00, with different operating hours for each area. The specific operating status is subject to the daily opening conditions.
