Taiping Heavenly Kingdom’s Loyal King’s Mansion

The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom’s Loyal King’s Mansion is located on Northeast Street in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, adjacent to the Humble Administrator’s Garden. It is the mansion of Li Xiucheng, the Loyal King of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, a representative of the peasant uprising regime in the Qing Dynasty. It is one of the more complete buildings remaining from the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom period and is also one of the more complete peasant uprising army mansions preserved in Chinese history. In 1961, it was announced as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council. It is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00; closed all day on Mondays.

7. To protect cultural relics, eating, drinking, and consuming alcohol are prohibited in the exhibition hall. The new museum tea room and wisteria garden are designated areas for the audience to eat, drink, and relax.


8. Do not bring food and beverages into the museum; do not eat in rest areas other than the museum’s tea room and wisteria garden.


9. For the safety of cultural relics and you and others, flash photography, tripod photography equipment, and selfie sticks are prohibited in the exhibition hall; taking photos and videos are prohibited in temporary exhibitions. The images and videos taken must not be used for commercial purposes.


10. Sketching or painting is allowed with pencils, charcoal, ballpoint pens, crayons, and pastels, but not with various water-based pens and water-soluble materials. Do not set up easels in the exhibition hall. When sketching, do not hinder the normal visit of other visitors.
