Fengle Pavilion is situated at the foot of Fengshan Mountain, adjacent to the Ziwei Spring, and was constructed during the Northern Song Dynasty by Ouyang Xiu, who was then the prefect of Chuzhou. He personally wrote the ‘Fengle Pavilion Record’ to commemorate the occasion, where he enjoyed drinking, composing poetry, meeting friends, and sharing joy with the people. Fengle Pavilion and Zui Weng Pavilion are both renowned worldwide because of their construction by Ouyang and the essays written about them, earning them the title of ‘Sister Pavilions’. The existing stone carving of ‘Fengle Pavilion Record’ written by Su Dongpo and the ‘Twelve Views of Chuzhou’ are displayed here.
