The Taizhou Fucheng Cultural Tourism Area highlights the Jiangnan Great Wall. The ancient Jiangnan Great Wall was originally the city wall of Taizhou Fucheng and is located in the urban area of Linhai. Half of it is along the Lingjiang River and half is on the mountain. It is used for military defense and flood control. There are scenic spots such as the City God Temple, Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall and Puxian Temple on the mountain.
The cannons and other furnishings are all new and eye-catching. Entering the scenic area from Lanshengmen, the first thing that catches the eye is a nearly 200-step steep staircase leading to Gujing Tower. Looking up from below, it is quite imposing. Moving forward from Gujing Tower is the relatively steep ‘Baibu Jun’. After climbing Baibu Jun, you will reach Baiyun Tower, the high point of the eastern section of the Great Wall. Baiyun Tower is a good place to see the panoramic view of Linhai. The view is very wide. Down from Baiyun Tower is the ancient City God Temple. Most tourists go down the mountain from here. When they come out, they can just go to Donghu Park (a private garden in the Song Dynasty). This section takes about 2 hours. Continuing to walk the entire distance to Longxing Temple takes about 3 hours. There are about two or three places along the way where you can go down the mountain halfway. Below Longxing Temple is one end of Ziyang Old Street. There are many vendors inside. You can buy some snacks. It costs about 15 yuan to take a tricycle back to Lanshengmen. There are many steps on the Great Wall. Some places are relatively steep. Walking down in one go is still relatively exhausting. You can bring some water and dry food by yourself. Climbing up the open Great Wall along the river at night and taking a walk. Looking at the wave lights and shadows of the Lingjiang River allows you to recall the ancient charm of Taizhou Fucheng.Opening hours: Open all year round from 07:00 to 17:00.
