Taizhou People’s Park is located in the south of the main urban area of Taizhou City. The east, west and north sides are adjacent to residential areas, and the south side faces the office building of the municipal government. The total area of the park is 168,000 square meters. In terms of planning structure, a basic pattern is formed with science popularization exhibitions as the center, supplemented by mass activity areas, quiet rest areas, plant landscape areas and cultural activity areas.
The park is characterized by prominent plant landscapes. It makes full use of the topography and landforms to achieve undulating hills, long flowing clear water, lush forests, and the singing of birds and the fragrance of flowers. On the basis of carrying forward the national tradition of Chinese garden art and absorbing the advantages of Western gardens, a new style of modern gardens has been formed. Residents of the Lianhua residential area where the population of the new district is relatively concentrated now have a people’s park that integrates education, entertainment, recreation and leisure and fully embodies the concept of ‘people-oriented and returning to nature’ in addition to the cultural activity places in each community.
