The Tangshan Fangshan National Geopark Museum, located in the Tangshan Resort within Tangshan National Geopark, Jiangning, Jiangsu, covers an area of approximately 74.7 hectares. The Geopark is primarily positioned for geological research, science education, and cultural tourism, consisting of three parts: the Nanjing Upright Man Fossil Archaeological Site (Ancient Ape Cave), the Cultural Tourism Complex (Nanjing Upright Man Fossil Museum), and the Time Tunnel.

The first phase of the museum, based on ‘Tangshan Geology’ and the theme of ‘Evolution of Life,’ centers around the Nanjing Upright Man from the Middle Pleistocene Epoch, unfolding the geological changes and human evolution over millions of years. The Tangshan Fangshan National Geopark Museum will take you on a journey through 600 million years of life’s evolution in the Nanjing area, recreating the ancestral human living environment in Nanjing, and revealing how this magical land has nurtured and sustained human genes and civilization.
