The karst cave covers an area of 80,000 square meters, and the tourist route inside the cave is 1,800 meters. Now 16 palace halls, 53 gates, 24 gorges, and more than 200 scenic spots have been opened. Taogu Labyrinth has a long history. Since the Han and Tang dynasties, it has attracted countless literati and scholars and become a tourist attraction. Su Shi and Yue Fei left stone inscriptions and relics here. When Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, stayed in Guangde, he praised this place as ‘the most beautiful place under heaven’. The scenery of Taogu Labyrinth is precious for its naturalness. There are four unique features: flowing clouds, strange rocks, strange gates, and secluded gorges, forming a unique natural landscape full of magical colors. Inside the cave, there are jagged rocks and a deep and mysterious atmosphere. It combines ancient, spiritual, beautiful, and strange elements, resembling a surreal realm and being fascinating. On the mountain, there is a majestic and magnificent ‘Hidden Gold Tower’. At the foot of the mountain, there is the ‘Peach Blossom Pond’ with shimmering blue waves. On the island in the middle of the lake, there is a statue of the fairy Taogu. On the left is the ‘Dressing Pavilion’, and on the right is the ‘Gathering Immortals Pavilion’. Zhu Lin, the magistrate of Guangde in the Ming Dynasty, praised it in a poem: ‘The countryside of Tongshui is rainy and then sunny. Leisurely, I go for a tour and hear the neighing of five steeds. My spring shirt is wet at the entrance of the flowing clouds cave. Across the cliff, there is the sound of peach blossom and brook water.’ Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 16:00.
