The boundary marker on the dividing line will be integrated with an old bridge pier, a historical remnant from Huai’an (planned to be the ‘Red Bridge’), which was originally constructed in the 1930s and has witnessed the vicissitudes of Huai’an’s history. The fusion of the boundary marker with the historically significant old bridge pier not only enhances the city’s characteristics but also deepens its cultural connotations. The marker, shaped like a sphere, is located at the center of the Red Bridge, which is also the centerline of the river. The sphere is divided into two hemispheres, with the northern hemisphere gradually transitioning to a cold color tone and the southern hemisphere transitioning to a warm color tone, symbolizing the climatic characteristics of the Earth’s North and South. Pedestrians can walk through the sphere, experiencing the sensory changes as they cross the climatic zones. The opening hours are subject to the actual operating status on the day.
