Starting from Hongwu Avenue, the film and television city spans approximately 2600 meters, encompassing over 1000 years of Chinese history from the Tang Dynasty to the present. It includes structures such as the Qianqing Palace, Daming Palace, and Epang Palace, hence its name ‘Millennium Avenue of China’. Located in Meipu Village, Yaopu Town, the Chuzhou Film and Television City will become a base for film shooting and cultural tourism after completion. It is reported that the Qianqing Palace within the Chuzhou Yaopu Film City is constructed at a 1:1 scale, and its grandeur will rival that of the Hengdian World Studios in Zhejiang. While Hengdian offers venue rentals along with tourism and ancient palaces, Chuzhou Film City is more comprehensive.
The Chuzhou Film Base widely adopts Hui-style architecture, using bricks, wood, and stone carvings to demonstrate superb decorative art skills. Most brick carvings are embedded in door canopies, window lintels, and screen walls. On large blue bricks, there are vividly carved figures of people, insects, fish, flowers, birds, as well as patterns of the Eight Treasures, antiques, and geometric shapes, which are highly decorative. Alongside the water, these structures complement each other with pavilions, platforms, towers, and other buildings, creating the beautiful scene of ‘small bridges, flowing water, and homes’.
The Ming and Qing Dynasties Hui-style architecture group, located in the famous mountains and waters of Southern Anhui and Western Zhejiang, has become a representative of Jiangnan gardens. Due to the widespread business of Hui merchants, this architectural school has also had a certain influence on Chuzhou. The opening hours are from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round.
