The Nanjing Museum of the Six Dynasties is located on the east side of the Nanjing Presidential Palace, at the intersection of Changjiang Road and Hanfu Street. The museum is from the basement floor to the third floor on the east and north sides. During the Six Dynasties period, Nanjing was the world’s first city with a population of over one million. It is known as ‘two major centers of classical civilization in the world’ together with ancient Rome. The rammed earth wall site of the Six Dynasties is on the basement floor of the museum. There is a section of rammed earth wall site of the Six Dynasties that is 25 meters long and 10 meters wide. This is the root of the entire museum. In 2008, when archaeologists excavated the plot where the museum is located, they found this rammed earth wall at a depth of 2 meters underground. After research, it is identified as the architectural site of the palace city of Jiankang during the Six Dynasties 1700 years ago. It is precisely because of the unearthed of this thousand-year-old site that there is today’s Museum of the Six Dynasties. The core theme of the exhibition ‘Eternal Elegance’ in the Museum of the Six Dynasties is to show the charm of the ‘Oriental metropolis’. There are four exhibitions: ‘Capital of the Six Dynasties’, ‘Eternal Elegance’, ‘Elegance of the Six Dynasties’ and ‘Outstanding Figures of the Six Dynasties’. On the first floor, there is also a special exhibition of cultural relics on the theme of ‘Eternal Elegance – Stories of Figures in the Three Kingdoms Period’.**Cultural Relics Exhibition: Stories of the Three Kingdoms**
