Tianchi Mountain

Legend has it that ‘Tianchi’ is the ‘Yaochi’ of the Queen Mother of the Western Heavens, where she has brought the seven fairies to bathe multiple times. Hence, Tianchi Mountain is named after its numerous springs. The beauty of Tianchi is formed by the convergence of springs in the mountains. In front of the temple, there are the Qingxin Spring and the Hanku Spring. On the mountain beside the temple, there is the ‘Boyu Spring’ with a diameter of more than half a meter.

Additionally, there is the ‘Dilei Spring’, whose water sounds like pounding, the ‘Yingying Spring’ that can be filled with a handful, and the ‘First Spring of Tianchi’. The thousand-year-old Hanku Spring does not dry up in summer, does not freeze in winter, and has a sweet taste, known for its health benefits and disease prevention. Tianchi Mountain, with its clear waters and beautiful environment, is known as the ‘Little Yellow Mountain of the South of the Yangtze’.

Its profound cultural heritage is attractive. It is said that during the Wei and Jin dynasties, Master Zhi founded the Jiguan Temple. The temple still has well-preserved Yuan Dynasty stone houses, which are treasures of Tianchi Mountain and are considered exquisite works of art, with a history of more than six hundred years. Inside the stone house, there is a stone Buddha that blesses safety and good fortune, with the Three Stars shining brightly.

For thousands of years, scholars and elegant people who love the charm and aura of Tianchi’s mountains and waters have left countless relics and legendary tales.
