The Tianfei Palace, also known as the ‘Old Tianfei Palace’, is located outside the Dongdu Gate at the triangular junction of Jiangxia Street and Dongdu Road in the Haishu District. It is in the vicinity of today’s Hualian Commercial Building. Officially, during its last renovation, it was named ‘Ningbo Prefecture Lingci Palace’. Commonly, the locals refer to it as ‘Tianfei Palace’.
Constructed in the second year of the Shaoxing era during the Southern Song Dynasty, the palace was built by a shipowner from Putian, Fujian, named Shen Fayun. It is open to visitors all year round, offering full-day accessibility.
