Tianhou Palace is located in a small alley, running from north to south. There are front and rear halls. In the courtyard between the two halls stands a tall statue of Mazu. Under the right hand of the Mazu statue is a stone about one person tall. There are also east and west side halls on both sides of the courtyard. The main entrance of Tianhou Palace is on the south side. The door is carved with dragons and phoenixes, and there are majestic lions guarding beside the door.

In the front hall, the Three Stars of Fortune, Prosperity and Longevity are enshrined. In the rear hall, Mazu is enshrined. Tianhou Palace was originally the Fujian Merchants’ Guild Hall, so it enshrines the deities believed in by people in southern Fujian. According to legend, Mazu is the daughter of fishermen, named Lin Mo. She often single-handedly rescues fishermen in distress at sea and is the protector deity in the minds of people in coastal areas.

Opening hours: Open from 8:00 to 18:00 all year round.
