Tianyun Temple is located at the northern foot of Tianping Mountain, built by the local people of Wuzhong to commemorate the famous physician Ye Tianshi from the late Qing Dynasty. The temple has been expanded several times and now covers an area of over 4000 square meters. In the 1980s, the local residents spontaneously raised funds to build a small temple named ‘Tianyun Temple’ at the back of Tianping Mountain to worship ‘Heavenly Master’. Inside the temple, there are two stone carvings that can prove the age of ‘Tianyun Temple’. One is a stone carving located at the northwest corner of the rear hall’s foundation, which has the words ‘Tianyun Temple’ inscribed on it (now embedded under the newly built front hall). Another stone carving also has the words ‘Tianyun Temple’ inscribed on it. The main hall’s roof is of the Xieshan style, with traditional wooden structures used for the roof above the main hall, while other parts use brick, stone, and concrete structures. Inside the temple, the Buddha statues carved from camphor wood are already in place. The front hall worships the Qing Dynasty physician Ye Tianshi, and the rear hall worships the Medicine Buddha, with Arhats on both sides, dignified and fragrant, and the colored paintings are about to be completed. The temple has various stone carvings with inscriptions such as ‘Medicine Garden’, ‘Universal Aid Pond’, ‘Fragrant Strict Aid to the World’, ‘A Hundred Herbs with Withered Vines Are All Treasures’, and ‘Thousands of Families’ Chronic Diseases Are Revitalized’. The temple garden is planted with various medicinal plants, and goji berries hanging on the garden wall are particularly attractive, making for a beautiful photo to share. The temple is open all year round from 08:00 to 16:30, with the actual business status subject to the daily opening conditions.
