Tianzhang Temple, a renowned temple from the Song Dynasty in Shaoxing, is particularly noted for its special connection with the emperors and its proximity to Lanting and the Six Imperial Tombs of the Song Dynasty.
Established in the second year of the Zhi Dao era during the Northern Song Dynasty, Tianzhang Temple was built specifically for the collection of imperial calligraphy. It was Emperor Taizong of Song who bestowed the temple with the name Tianzhang.
