Shangtianzhu Temple, also known as Fahua Temple, was established in the 10th century and is recognized as the origin of the White-Robed Guanyin in China. With a history of over a thousand years, it has been a renowned Buddhist sacred site in China and is rumored to be one of the practice fields of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. Today, it is also a popular temple in Hangzhou known for its efficacy.
Fahua Temple is the largest among the three Tianzhu temples, featuring structures such as the Sutra Pavilion, Liangfeng Hall, Qianfo Pavilion, Shuiyue Building, and Huanghua Hall. Surrounding the temple are scenic spots like Baiyun Peak, Ru Dou Peak, Ru Dou Spring, and Baiyun Spring. Visitors can come here to worship and pray for blessings, as well as to appreciate the architecture and explore the surrounding attractions.

Opening hours are from 06:30 to 18:00 all year round; on New Year’s Eve, the temple is open from 06:30 to 18:00 and then from 22:00 to 02:00.
