The Tide-Watching Resort Park is located in the Yanguan Tide-Watching Scenic Area in the southwestern part of Haining. It faces the Qiantang River in the south and is backed by the Hangzhou-Jinhua Highway in the north. The park has a long and narrow terrain from east to west, with a total length of 1,360 meters and a total area of 16.24 hectares. Before the Anti-Japanese War, there was already a seaside park along the seawall.
Since 1994, the seaside ‘Tide-Watching Resort Park’ has been rebuilt. The Tide-Watching Resort Park is the best viewing point for the world wonder ‘first-line tide’. In Haining, tides can be watched every day. In Yanguan, there are big tides every month. From the 1st to the 6th day and from the 15th to the 20th day of the lunar calendar every month are all big tide days. There are more than 150 good tide-watching days throughout the year. The fish-scale stone pond, 2 tide-watching towers and 6 tide-watching platforms in the park are the best viewing points for the world wonder Haining tide. There are scenic spots such as the Zhan’ao Pagoda of the Ming Dynasty, the Xiaoputuo Temple, the ancient tree planted by Emperor Qianlong, the Shi Liangcai Monument, and the iron ox for suppressing the sea. The Baishitan Square integrates large-scale festival activities, sightseeing, artistic performances, and leisure and entertainment. It is the landmark landscape of the Tide-Watching Resort Park and also the venue for the annual International Qiantang River (Haining) Tide-Watching Festival. The trees are swaying, the stone chair promenade, pavilions, terraces and towers, and winding paths have a unique charm. It is one of the ‘Top Ten Beautiful Scenic Spots and Amusement Parks in Zhejiang Province’. Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00. Preferential policies during the tide-watching season from September 16th to 24th: Students: Full-time school students over 18 years old (excluding 18 years old) can enter with their student ID cards for personal visits with discounts. Elderly: Elderly people over 70 years old (including 70 years old) can enter for free with their ‘Senior Citizen Preferential Card’ or ID card. Elderly people from 60 to 70 years old (excluding 70 years old) can enter with discounts with their ‘Senior Citizen Preferential Card’ or ID card. Military personnel/disabled military personnel, etc.: Active-duty military personnel, disabled military personnel, retired military personnel, military retirees, retired sergeants, and the families of martyrs, families of military personnel who died on duty, and families of military personnel who died of illness can enter for free with valid certificates. Firefighters: In-service, retired, and disabled fire rescue personnel and students of rescue academies can enter for free with valid certificates. Disabled people/journalists, etc.: People with the ‘Disability Certificate’ issued by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation; people with the ‘Retired Cadre Certificate’ issued by state organs; people with the ‘Press Card’ issued by the state news department; people with their own ‘Zhejiang Province Honorary Certificate for Blood Donation’; people with the ‘National Tour Guide Certificate’, ‘Travel Agency Manager Qualification Certificate’, and ‘Tour Leader Certificate’ issued by the National Ministry of Culture and Tourism when traveling in a group, and the driver with A/A1 license when traveling in a group (1 person per vehicle in a group) can enter for free.
