The Tidal Tower is one of the iconic structures of Rizhao City. Standing at 24 meters tall, the tower is entirely transparent with a cantilevered observation deck in the middle, adorned with lotus petal-shaped metal mesh on the outside, resembling a blooming lotus. Some parts of the structure are designed to taper, with translucent glass exteriors, using the entire sky as its backdrop.
Inside the Tidal Tower, there are various functional areas including a café, restaurant, shopping hall, and exhibition hall, catering to visitors’ needs for leisure, shopping, entertainment, and curiosity. Visitors can reach the top platform of the tower through two different routes: either by walking the outdoor spiral path or by taking the indoor tour route. Upon reaching the central observation deck, one can experience the feeling of looking out over the distance from a great height.
As evening falls, the tower lights up, with the central light changing colors in sync with the tide. When the light is on, it indicates high tide; when it is off, it signifies low tide. The Tidal Tower appears majestic and magnificent against the backdrop of the blue sky and the sea during the day, and at night, it exudes an air of illusion and mystery.
