Tinglin Garden is located in the northwest corner of Kunshan urban area. It was built as Ma’anshan Park in 1906. Later, to commemorate Gu Yanwu, a native of Kunshan who put forward ‘Everyone is responsible for the rise and fall of the country’, it was renamed Tinglin Garden. Yufeng Mountain in the north of the park, also known as Ma’anshan, is the mountain in Kunshan city. On the east side of the south part is the exhibition hall and amusement park, and on the west side is a lake.

When outsiders come to Tinglin Garden, most of them are to see the ‘Three Treasures of Kunshan’, Kunstone, viburnum macrocephalum, and twin lotus. Locals often come to the park for walking and physical exercise. There are many century-old trees in the park and the environment is very good. On the east side of Ma’anshan Road in the south of Tinglin Garden, there are four gates in sequence from east to west, namely the east gate, the southeast gate, the west gate, and the northwest gate.

The east gate is the main gate. Generally, the tour starts from the east gate. The ‘Three Museums of Tinglin’, Kunqu Opera Museum, Gu Yanwu Memorial Hall, and Kunstone Museum are all concentrated at the east gate. Inside the Kunqu Opera Museum is a stage. There are performances of Kunqu Opera, Yue Opera and other operas on holidays and Sundays. There is a sculpture of Gu Yanwu standing at the entrance of Gu Yanwu Memorial Hall.

The museum details Gu Yanwu’s life and displays related books, his daily necessities and so on. Kunstone is produced from Yufeng Mountain in Tinglin Garden. It looks a bit like a mini version of Taihu stone, but it is more transparent than Taihu stone. ‘Spring Clouds Emerging from Crags’ and ‘Autumn Waters with Transverse Waves’ in the Kunstone Museum are currently well-preserved relatively large ancient Kunstones.

In mid-to-late April every year, Tinglin Garden will hold the Viburnum macrocephalum Art Festival. Viburnum macrocephalum is the city flower of Kunshan. The places to enjoy viburnum macrocephalum in Tinglin Garden are the Viburnum macrocephalum Garden on the north side of the Kunstone Museum; ‘Red Fruits and Exquisite Fragrance’ on the north side of Lingfeng Pavilion after entering through the southeast gate; a few steps north after entering through the east gate, there is also a viburnum macrocephalum king with a tree age of more than 300 years.

From July to August every year, Tinglin Garden will hold a lotus exhibition. The lotus can be seen on the lake in the west of the park. The twin lotus can be seen in the square pond on the south side of the Kunstone Museum. Several flower heads form a lotus flower with thousands of petals, which is beautiful and rare. In autumn, the fragrance of osmanthus can be smelled in the park. Yufeng Mountain in the north of Tinglin Garden is not high, with an altitude of 80.

2 meters. It takes about half an hour to an hour to climb up and down the mountain. At the top of the mountain, you can overlook the panorama of Tinglin Garden and look at the scenery of Kunshan city. Tourists with children can visit the following places. Turn left after entering through the east gate of the park. There are an amusement park, a national defense education park, a zoo, and a valley of thousands of snakes.

The amusement facilities in the amusement park need to be paid separately, about ten yuan or so for each item. The national defense education park displays airplanes, tanks, etc. The zoo requires an additional 20 yuan ticket, and there are not many animal species inside. The valley of thousands of snakes requires an additional 15 yuan ticket and displays various snakes. Boating is available on the lake in the west of the park.

Different boat types have different prices, generally around twenty or thirty yuan. Near the west gate in the lake area, there is an artificial beach, Baibu Sand, where you can play with sand.

In addition to the scenic spots, there is a unique temple in the lake area, similar to a haunted house, which requires an additional purchase of a 15 yuan ticket.
