Tongjun Mountain is located at the intersection of Fuchun River and Fenshui River. It is separated from Tonglu County by only one water. It is a scenic spot close to the urban area. The scenery here is quiet and secluded. It is said to be the place where Tongjun, the ‘ancestor’, built his hut. Not only are most of the landscapes in the mountain related to this, but even the place name ‘Tonglu’ comes from this.
Tongjun Mountain itself is a relatively small peak, with a height of only more than 60 meters. It can be visited in less than an hour. It is very suitable for taking the elderly and children to relax. Tongjun Mountain can be visited for free. If you plan to take the ‘Sailing Seven Miles’ cruise ship in the scenic area, you need to buy a ticket separately. When climbing Tongjun Mountain and entering the scenic area gate, the first thing you see is the statue of Tongjun old man. He has a medicine gourd on his shoulder and a ruoye hat on his back. He has kind eyebrows and kind eyes. In the Hundred Herbs Garden not far from the statue, Chinese medicinal materials such as Calla palustris and Ilex cornuta are planted. They are all good medicines for treating diseases. After passing the ‘Hometown of the Medicine Ancestor’ archway, officially start climbing. Among the clusters of green trees, a Hui-style building with blue bricks, grey tiles and horse-head walls can be seen. This is the former residence of Ye Qianyu (Fuchun Painting Courtyard). After walking up more than a hundred stone steps, you can reach the top of the mountain. The seven-story Tongjun White Pagoda on the mountain is a landmark landscape of Tonglu County. You may take pictures here as a souvenir. Standing on the Siwang Pavilion on the top of the mountain and looking into the distance, the blue waters and waves of the two rivers merge into one at your feet, which is rather poetic. In addition, during the climb, you will pass buildings such as the Sifang Pharmacy, Tongjun Temple, and Tongjun Pavilion. A simple visit is enough. Sailing Seven Miles Not far from the Hundred Herbs Garden at the foot of the mountain is the cruise ship terminal of ‘Sailing Seven Miles’. Compared with Yan Ziling Diaotai and Qili Yangfan in Jiande, which are also cruise ship tours on the Fuchun River, there are usually fewer tourists at Tongjun Mountain. The cruise ship departs from Tongjun Mountain and sails upstream on the Fuchun River. After passing the Second Fuchun River Bridge, it reaches the First Fuchun River Bridge and then returns. The whole journey takes about 40 minutes. The departure time of the cruise ship is adjusted according to the flow of people. Usually, it needs 5-10 people to start sailing.
