Blending ancient treasures with modern design, the Tsingtao Beer Museum officially opened on August 15, 2003, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of Tsingtao Beer. It is located at 56 Dengzhou Road, the birthplace of Tsingtao Beer. As an integral part of the century-old Tsingtao Beer corporate culture, the museum combines the historical development, rich cultural heritage, advanced brewing processes, and entertainment and shopping opportunities into a professional beer museum of national and international excellence. It is acclaimed as ‘the banner of China’s industrial tourism’ and a ‘true model of industrial heritage protection and utilization in China’.
With an exhibition area of over 6000 square meters, the Tsingtao Beer Museum is divided into three exhibition areas: Centennial Historical Culture, Brewing Technology Development, and Beer Experience Charm. In the Centennial Historical Culture area, visitors can follow the timeline to understand the historical culture of Tsingtao Beer, numerous honors, export history, nationwide factory establishment, and the beer customs of Tsingtao Beer and the city through detailed text and images, holographic images, and interactive videos.
The Brewing Technology Development area showcases the complete set of brewing equipment from a century ago and modern production line scenes. Every representative process in the production line has video equipment, allowing visitors to compare the old and new, understanding the evolution of Tsingtao Beer’s brewing processes and production history. Mr. August, the traditional fermentation pool brewer, sends greetings across the centuries, and the old laboratory scene and workers’ malt-turning labor scenes recreate the original appearance of Tsingtao Beer’s production history. Visitors can also experience the modern filtration and packaging production lines to feel the grandeur of the 4.0 modern production line.
In the Beer Experience Charm area, surprises can be found through holographic projections, dynamic bicycles, drunken huts, and AR interactions. The merchandise store is filled with creative beer cultural products such as specialty beers, exclusive drinking vessels, various bottle openers, beer bottle chocolates, and delicious beer beans. The Tsingtao Beer Museum’s music dining bar on the first floor can accommodate nearly 200 diners and offers authentic German roast pork knuckles, German sausages, local Tsingtao seafood, and creative beer dishes.
The Tsingtao Beer Museum has created the 1903 Bakery on Dengzhou Road Beer Street, using the century-old yeast of Tsingtao Beer to create a legendary new beer yeast bread that breathes, rich in wheat aroma, understands music, and is healthier, becoming a must-visit food spot in Tsingtao. There is also the Encounter Bar, where visitors can taste a full range of fresh Tsingtao beers, and a smart convenience store that is the first of its kind in Shandong Province, making the museum visit rich and creative.
