Located within Li Lake Central Park, the Underwater World of Wuxi is a modest-sized attraction ideal for families with young children, blending education with entertainment. Within its confines, one can observe the clumsy sea turtles, the precious Chinese sturgeon, and the lemon sharks with lemon-colored bellies, among other marine life. Animal performances are also available for viewing. The exterior of the Wuxi Underwater World resembles a fairy-tale castle. Upon entering, visitors first pass through the tropical rainforest area to see a variety of uniquely shaped tropical fish. In the river and lake fish section’s specimen hall, one can view the skeleton of a sperm whale. Then, visitors traverse a 20-meter long underwater tunnel to witness large marine fish swimming overhead and admire the small fish around the reefs in the cylindrical tanks. The lobby of the Underwater World also hosts performances of human-shark dance. It is open from 09:00 to 17:00 every day from January 1st to December 31st, with the last admission at 16:30. Preferential policies for children include free entry for children under 1.1 meters in height. The preferential groups include children between 1.1 meters and 1.4 meters in height, elderly people aged 60 and above (with identification), and full-time primary, middle, and high school students (excluding adult education and graduate students) with a student ID or school letter, who can purchase preferential tickets. Parking facilities are available at the Wuxi Underwater World parking lot, with a reference price of ¥10 per entry, located at the east and west gates of the scenic area, with a capacity of 500 spaces; ¥5 for small cars; ¥10 for large cars. There are multiple restrooms within the scenic area, all marked with conspicuous signs.
