Rizhao Wanbao Binhai Scenic Area is a distinctive tourist destination that focuses on seawater bathing, beach combing, and fishing, while also providing a comprehensive range of services including dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, entertainment, and shopping. The scenic area is bordered by the Yellow Sea to the east, faces Rizhao Binhai National Forest Park to the south, leans against the picturesque Wulian Mountain to the west, and is backed by the historical site of Langya Terrace to the north. The scenic area’s beach stretches for about 2 kilometers with more than 1 million square meters of sandy shoreline, characterized by its gentle, soft, and fine sand. The seawater is clear and clean, with waves as soft as a carpet, and the water quality is fresh and crystal clear, meeting the national first-class water quality standards. The air here is fresh, with the concentration of negative oxygen ions in every cubic centimeter of air reaching 2500-5000, which is 50-100 times higher than that of inland cities, making it a free oxygen bar and an ideal place for summer retreats, water play, swimming, and fitness activities.
The beach combing park in the scenic area covers 1000 hectares of intertidal zone, rich in shellfish and marine life such as Xisha’s tongue, Japanese crown whip crab (commonly known as ‘sea cicada’), clams, white clams, fragrant snails, fan-shaped shells, and large bamboo clams. After the tide recedes, the beach is flat and the sand is fine, allowing for various beach combing activities such as digging for clams, fishing for bamboo clams, collecting sea snails, and catching crabs, providing endless entertainment. When the tide rises, the sea water surges from all directions, creating a spectacular sight.
The park is open all year round from 08:00 to 18:00, but the opening times are subject to frequent changes based on tidal schedules. It is advisable to call ahead for inquiries, and the specific business status will be determined by the actual opening on the day.
