Located in the West Street of Wuzhen, the Water Market, originally known as the morning market for the surrounding neighborhoods, is called the ‘Water Market Entrance’. The entire water area is divided by a wooden trestle bridge that runs east to west, with the wooden trestle bridge facing the Jingxing Bridge across the West Market River. Water pavilions are built along the river on both the east and west sides of the water area. The Water Market used to be a place where Wuzhen residents would row boats to buy and sell goods at the morning market. It still occasionally hosts markets, and there is a large koi fish viewing area next to the trestle bridge. It is open all year round and accessible all day long.
