Wei Lu is located on the west side of the Hua Gang Guan Yu Park, facing the Peony Pavilion to the south, covering an area of 2000 square meters. It is an excellent place for tea tasting, enjoying the scenery, and watching fish.
At the entrance, one steps onto a path of bluestone steps. To the west of the entrance stands an ancient square pavilion with exquisite carvings and a decorative style that is as splendid as a bouquet of flowers. Next to the pavilion, there is a small pool that adds a particularly elegant and delicate touch to the scene. The higher part of Wei Lu features an octagonal roof made of wood and tiles with double eaves. No matter from which angle one views this octagonal double-eaved roof, only a part of it is visible. This type of roof is known as a ‘pyramidal roof’ in garden architecture.
Heading north from the pavilion, one can see the lush green mountains and the tranquil waters, truly a place that captures the essence of the West Lake’s scenery. It embodies the harmony between architecture, plants, and landscape.
