Weishan Lake National Wetland Park is located in the southern part of Weishan County, Shandong Province, less than 3 kilometers away from the urban area. The entire water surface of Weishan Lake is managed by Weishan County, Jining City. The park has a total planned area of 150,000 mu, and it is a large-scale public welfare ecological project focusing on wetland protection, scientific education, water quality purification, and ecological tourism.
Located 3 kilometers south of Weishan County, the park primarily utilizes the wetland ecosystem and historical culture of Weishan Lake as its main resources, with a focus on wetland conservation, scientific education, water purification, and ecological sightseeing. The park is divided into five major functional areas: wetland conservation, restoration and reconstruction, educational display, reasonable utilization, and management services. It is rich in rare birds and a variety of flora and fauna, including higher and lower plants, with a complete structure of various ecosystem types such as wetland, agricultural, and forest ecosystems. The park features distinct original wetland characteristics and holds high ecological, cultural, aesthetic, and biodiversity value.
In the coming years, Weishan County will combine the protection of water quality for the South-to-North Water Diversion Project with the maintenance of ecological balance in the lake area, and coordinate wetland protection with reasonable utilization efforts to make Weishan Lake National Wetland Park a model project for freshwater lake wetland tourism and a landmark project for wetland ecological construction in China.
Opening hours: November 1st to April 30th, 09:00-17:00; May 1st to October 31st, 08:30-17:30. For boat trips to and from Weishan Island between November 1st and April 30th: Winter (last boat to the island: 15:00, last boat from the island: 16:30), ticket check-in stops at 16:00, and the park closes at 17:00. From May 1st to October 31st, boat trips to and from Weishan Island: 08:30-17:30 (last boat to the island: 16:00, last boat from the island: 17:30); entry stops at 16:30, and the park closes at 17:30.
Preferential policies: Weishan residents: Residents of Weishan Island Town and Weishan County residents visiting Weishan Lake National Wetland Park enjoy free entry with valid identification such as ID cards and household registration books. Children: Free entry for children under 6 years old (inclusive) or under 1.4 meters in height (inclusive), with height measured on-site or valid identification; half-price for minors aged 6 to 18 years old (inclusive) with valid identification; free for children under 1.
