The Wenyou Terrace was built in the Taiping Xingguo period of the Northern Song Dynasty (976). It is a high-platform building on the top of Dongshan Mountain. Looking around from a high place, one can enjoy the beautiful scenery all around. The four walls of the Wenyou Terrace are adorned with calligraphy by famous masters and have high artistic value. On the west side is the Four Sages Shrine built in the Ming Dynasty. There are museums on both the east and west sides, providing a window for understanding the historical and cultural heritage of Gaoyou. It corresponds remotely with Zhenguo Temple Pagoda in the west of the city, Zhalou and Jingtu Temple Pagoda in the east of the city, forming a set of simple and beautiful triangular three-dimensional outlines.
