The West Street in Huai’an rose in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. In the street and alley, there is Fengji Granary, which is known as one of the ‘four major granaries’ along the canal and other old sites of canal transportation culture. It has witnessed the prosperity of canal transportation on the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are also many well-preserved historical sites nearby.
