  1. Passport: Original passport with at least 6 months of validity and blank visa pages, along with one photocopy of the passport photo data page.
  2. Visa Application Form and Photo: One completed “People’s Republic of China Visa Application Form” and one recent color passport photo with a light background, attached to the application form.
  3. Proof of Legal Stay or Residence (applicable for those applying for a visa outside their country of nationality): If you are not applying for a visa in your country of nationality, you must provide valid proof of legal stay, residence, work, or study in the host country, along with the original and a photocopy of the valid visa.
  4. Original Chinese Passport or Visa (applicable for those who previously held Chinese nationality and later acquired foreign nationality): If this is your first application for a Chinese visa, you must provide the original Chinese passport and a photocopy of the passport photo data page. If you have previously obtained a Chinese visa and are applying with a newly issued foreign passport, you must provide a photocopy of the photo data page of the original foreign passport and the previously obtained Chinese visa (if the name on the new passport differs from the original passport, you must also provide official documentation of the name change).
  5. One of the following materials: (1) “Employment Permit for Foreigners” issued by the Human Resources and Social Security Department; for work periods not exceeding 90 days, you must also provide a “Short-Term Work Permit for Foreigners in China,” and the applicant must apply for the visa before the start date indicated on the “Short-Term Work Permit,” with the work period not exceeding the duration specified in the “Short-Term Work Permit.” (2) “Work Permit for Foreign Experts” or “Notification of Foreigners’ Work Permit” issued by the Foreign Experts Bureau. (3) “Registration Certificate for Foreign (Regional) Enterprises’ Permanent Representative Offices” issued by the Administration for Industry and Commerce. (4) Performance approval document for commercial artistic performances issued by the cultural administration (only applicable for applicants coming to China for commercial performances); for performance periods not exceeding 90 days, a “Short-Term Work Permit for Foreigners in China” is also required, and the applicant must apply for the visa before the start date indicated on the “Short-Term Work Permit,” with the performance duration not exceeding the duration specified in the “Short-Term Work Permit.” (5) “Invitation Letter for Foreigners Engaging in Offshore Petroleum Operations in the People’s Republic of China” issued by China National Offshore Oil Corporation. [Please Note] Holders must apply for residence permits with the local public security authority in the area where they intend to stay within 30 days of entering China, except for those whose stay period is 30 days and whose visas indicate “working time must not exceed the period stated in the work permit.”
