Shanghai’s winter is chilly and overcast, prompting a shift from outdoor activities to seeking warmth for a full day of family fun. The Baoyan Paradise flagship store in Shanghai has been visited more than once. With its pet park, water park, slides, play castles, building blocks, and more, Baoyan is undoubtedly the top-tier indoor amusement park in Shanghai in terms of scale and entertainment value. Arriving at 11 am, the entire Baoyan Paradise was already filled with a strong Christmas atmosphere. There is a large parking lot at the entrance, and you can get a voucher at the front desk for free parking for 4 hours; each additional hour costs 6 yuan. The amusement park spans 5 floors, and a whole day feels insufficient to experience everything.

1F Pet Paradise (11:00-18:00)
Pet Paradise is a must-visit spot, where you can feed small animals up close. The animals are very cooperative and eager to eat. Carrots and fish food are available for purchase at 10 yuan per serving. The star attraction, the alpaca, along with bunnies, prairie dogs, hedgehogs, squirrels, and peacocks, take you from a jungle world to an underwater one.

1F Slide Paradise
Parents can enjoy slides together, including the internet-famous 45-degree and 90-degree slides! Only children over 5 years old are allowed, so I went up. The entire building echoed with my screams. It was so thrilling! The free-fall sensation from the vertical drop!

At the 1F, 5D/7D/9D Cinemas have different age restrictions. My 3-year-old child could only watch the 5D movies. There is a schedule at the cinema entrance, so plan ahead. The 5D movies shown in the morning and afternoon are different; my child watched one after another, treating it like a cinema.

On the 2F, Ocean Ball, Slides, Building Blocks, Trampolines, and Arcade Area are located. My child’s favorite place was the building block area on the second floor, with extra-large blocks that can be played with for a long time. We built a house with him, and he said it was our little home. If the father is helpful enough, the mother can also enjoy free nail services. There is also a nap room for children on the second floor, which is very considerate. There is also an electronic arcade area on the second floor, including bumper cars that can be played, but pay attention to the opening hours.

The 3-4F houses the Water Park, open from 11:00 to 18:00. If you want to take your child swimming in winter, you will definitely think of Baoyan’s water park because not only is the water warm, but the entire space from the changing room to the water park is in a warm environment, so you don’t have to worry about the child catching a cold. There are various water slides, seesaws, and the very popular rainbow slide, which the child played over and over again. The pool water is relatively shallow, making it very suitable for children. The parent-child changing rooms inside must be highly praised, with separate bathing and changing rooms, and storage boxes in the changing rooms, 10 yuan per box, which can be opened during the process.

The Shanghai Baoyan Amusement Park Flagship Store (only the flagship store has a heated swimming pool) is located at Building 11, No. 3825, Dushi Road, Minhang District, Shanghai. It offers a variety of activities for your outdoor adventure trip. Here are some suggestions for enjoying the 5th-floor Outdoor Adventure Area:

  1. Outdoor Adventure Area (5F): Every visit feels worth the experience. Free attractions include the pirate ship, carousel, mini train, and grass skiing. Additionally, there are outdoor climbing areas, grass skiing, and horseback riding (paid activities). Be sure to check the schedule in advance.
  2. Winter Travel Tips:
    • Start with the outdoor activities on the 5th floor, then head indoors to store your coats before continuing your fun.
    • Water park activities are best saved for last, as water sports can be physically demanding. This way, you can avoid the hassle of showering before heading home, and kids are likely to fall asleep on the way back.
  3. Business Hours:
    • Monday to Friday: 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM
    • Saturday and Sunday: 9:30 AM – 8:30 PM
  4. Ticket Information: Please refer to the image for details.

Plan your visit accordingly, and we hope you have a wonderful day at Baoyan Amusement Park!
