Wu Chu Agricultural Culture Park is located southeast of Tianmu Lake, albeit at a considerable distance from the lake itself. It is, however, closer to the western end of Yixing Hengshan Reservoir. The park features a series of Jiangnan farmhouses, each arranged with a distinct rural charm, showcasing a variety of agricultural tools. Interactive activities such as water wheel pedaling are available for visitors to participate in.
The scenic area is divided into several zones including the Agricultural Exhibition Area, Living Utensils Area, Peasant Culture Area, Folk Sentiment Area, Handicraft Workshop Area, and Rural Farming Fun Area. The Agricultural Exhibition Area features farmhouses with statues of farmers plowing fields with oxen and agricultural tools for spring plowing and autumn harvest.
The Living Utensils Area displays the environment of rural life, with carved tables and chairs, carved beds, and kitchen setups on view. The Peasant Culture Area focuses on tea culture and cultural celebrities. In the Folk Sentiment Area, visitors can enjoy water wheel pedaling and sometimes witness traditional performances on the ancient stage.
The Handicraft Workshop Area showcases traditional handicrafts such as weaving and cotton ginning with statues and real objects. The park is open year-round from 08:00 to 17:00.
Preferential policies include:
– Children: Free entry for those under 1.4 meters in height (not inclusive).
– Children/Students/Elderly: Half price for children and students aged 1.4 meters (inclusive) and above but under 18 years old, and for elderly people aged over 60 years old (not inclusive).
– Military Personnel: Free entry for active-duty military personnel with officer’s ID.
– Journalists: Free entry with a press ID.
– Disabled Persons: Free entry with a disability ID; severely disabled persons (first and second level) are entitled to one free accompanying ticket, requiring a valid disability certificate to be presented at the window for processing.
