The name ‘Wuben’, akin to the names ‘Siben’ and ‘Chongben’ in the town, all signify ‘people as the foundation’, embodying the aspirations of several generations. Wuben Hall still retains a large number of ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, with greater cultural value compared to other halls. Its grandeur and spaciousness also make it the first among its peers in Tongli.
The ship hall within the hall is uniquely shaped, with exquisite carvings, modeled after a painted boat, consisting of five compartments separated by carved screens, with left and right extensions resembling boat rails, equipped with ‘King Wu’s lean’, and boat windows made of clear tiles, which are propped open with bamboo poles. The opening hours are subject to the actual opening status on the day.
