Wudao Park is located in the center of Lianshui County. It is composed of Lianyi Lake and five islands, with a total area of 1283 mu. Among them, the water area is 846 mu and the land area is 437 mu. Lianyi Lake was formed in the great flood in 1786. At that time, the Tanggong breach on the north bank of the Yellow River broke through the west gate of Andong City and destroyed the back street of the county.
After the flood, a lake was formed in the north of the county government office, commonly known as Hou’ao. Later, it was renamed Lianyi Lake. Some collapsed tall building ruins in the water emerged on the water surface and formed small islands. Before and after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, through many renovations, the five irregular and unconnected small islands on the lake were built into the beautiful Wudao Park with winding connections. These five islands are arranged in sequence from east to west, namely Fengle Island, Tongle Island, Houzhu Island, Migong Island, and Xizhao Island.
