Wulian Mountain is one of the famous mountains in Shandong. The scenic area boasts clear waters, lush forests, numerous peculiar peaks, strange rocks, and historical sites. Visitors can also climb to a high point to overlook the plains below and even gaze into the distance to see the Yellow Sea. On the mountain sits the Ming Dynasty’s renowned Guangming Temple, a popular destination for offering incense and praying for blessings.

Behind the temple, there is a colossal stone Buddha on the mountain, which is said to bring good luck to those who pay their respects. The best times to visit Wulian Mountain are during the spring, summer, and autumn seasons, making it ideal for flower appreciation and photography. Although Wulian Mountain is not tall and is named for its resemblance to a budding lotus from afar, it is not climbable.

The scenic area is divided into an east gate and a west gate; the east gate is the main entrance, and from the base of the mountain, visitors can take a scenic bus to the halfway point at the mountain gate. The path from the east gate is easier to walk, and it is possible to tour the entire area in half a day. The west gate path is steeper and will take more time to climb. Opening hours are from 08:30 to 17:30 all year round.
