Wulongtan Park is located at the eastern foot of Qingliang Mountain. It is known as the Small West Lake of Nanjing. In the Three Kingdoms period, Wulongtan was named Qingshui Pond and Furong Pool. In the Jin Dynasty, it was said that there were four springs in the pool that gushed all year round. Four black dragons surrounded the springs and played in the water. Later, the black dragons appeared on time every year, and thus Wulongtan got its name.

After several years, the four springs disappeared one after another, and the black dragons no longer appeared. However, Wulongtan still has beautiful scenery. The pavilions and towers along the pool are scattered, and the flowers and trees are sparse. It is full of poetic and picturesque charm and is known as the ‘crown of the western city’. The park wins with its beautiful mountains and waters, and is quiet and elegant.

Miaoxiang Pavilion, Lenghua Hall, Fúqú Studio, Feiyue Pavilion, Fangsheng Nunnery, and Suolong Bridge are laid out in harmony, making people linger. In addition, the ‘Qinggui’ with a tree age of more than 400 years, which is regarded as an excellent specimen of stump bonsai, and the landscape chess and chessboard – ‘Chinese Chess Bridge’ and other landscapes all amaze tourists. Opening hours: Open all year round from 07:00 to 19:00.
