Wusong Pao Taiwan Wetland Forest Park is located east of the Yangtze River and south of the mouth of the Huangpu River. The park is abundant with flowers and trees, and has a pleasant environment. Strolling on the wooden walkway along the riverfront wetland, visitors can enjoy the river mouth scenery and watch the sunset. On clear days, one can even see Changxing Island in the distance. Every March, a large number of migratory birds can be observed here.
For families with children, the Yangtze River Estuary Science and Technology Museum within the park is an excellent place to learn and enjoy a 4D motion movie. The park also features the Battery Memorial Square with ancient Qing Dynasty cannons and modern weapons, the Mine Pit Garden showcasing slag to reflect environmental protection concepts, and the park’s ‘treasure’—a piece of Antarctic rock collected by the Chinese Antarctic Expedition Team from the Antarctic continent. The park is open all year round from 8:00 to 17:00. Essential Tips:
1. The wind at Wusongkou is strong. When visiting in spring, autumn, and winter, it is important to wear windproof and warm clothing, while in summer, sun protection is necessary.
2. From November to March each year, the eastern mudflats of Pao Taiwan are the season for bird watching, with mid-March being the main period for migratory gulls passing through the Shanghai area. For bird watching, it is advised not to wear brightly colored clothing, move slowly, speak quietly, and avoid startling the birds.
