The Jiangnan Ancient Canal gathers two water and land tourism routes, the moat canal around the city and Qingming Bridge, traveling downstream from the ancient city, one can enjoy the modern urban scenery of Wuxi, as well as experience different themed cultural and natural landscapes. The ancient canal section from Nanchang Bridge to Qingming Bridge, due to its relatively narrow river section and long history, is known as ‘Shui Long Tang’. It has become the ‘essence of the essence’ of the ancient canal, praised as ‘Jiangnan Shui Long Tang, the ultimate place of the canal’, due to its long history, well-preserved, and perfect combination of water and culture.
Qingming Bridge Ancient Canal Cruise (Kuatangqiao Wharf) is located next to Kuatangqiao, right beside Starbucks, very easy to find. After experiencing the nostalgic atmosphere of the ancient and charming Qingming Bridge, one can take a cruise here, passing through many ancient and charming old buildings, which is a great way to understand the old history of Wuxi. Opening hours are from 09:00 to 20:30 all year round; during National Day, from 09:00 to 21:00, with a schedule of every 30 minutes; during the pandemic, the operating hours are from 13:00 to 20:30.
Preferential policies: Children: Children with a height of 1.3 meters (inclusive) do not occupy seats and cruise for free; children with a height between 1.3 meters (exclusive) and 1.5 meters (inclusive) enjoy half price. Students: Full-time undergraduate and below students with a student ID enjoy half price. Disabled soldiers: With a valid military ID, enjoy half price. Additional note: Each ticketed adult is limited to bringing one child under 1.3 meters (inclusive).
