Dongfeng Lane (Yuecheng Street) is located between the north of Jiefang East Road in Yicheng and Dongcang Bridge. It is an ancient street and alley from the Ming and Qing Dynasties with a history of 600 years. It was built in 1416, the fourteenth year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty. Outside the east gate of the ancient city, there is a crescent-shaped city wall called Yuechengli, and the street is called Yuecheng Street.

In the 1960s, Yuecheng Street was renamed Dongfeng Lane. The historical and cultural block of Dongfeng Lane (Yuecheng Street) covers an area of 2 hectares. The street is about 100 meters long and about 2 meters wide. At the end of the street is a stone arch bridge from the Ming Dynasty, ‘Dongcang Bridge’, spanning the old moat. The block relatively completely retains many characteristics and details such as the plane layout and structure of the ancient Yixing city’s crescent city, historical streets and alleys, moats and cross-river bridges, river ports, roads and the structure of residential houses over the years.

It is a microcosm of ancient Yixing city life. The specific business hours are subject to the opening situation on that day.
