Wuxie Scenic Area is located 20 kilometers west of Zhuji City. Originally named ‘Wuxie Scenic Area’. The scenic area is divided into four parts from outside to inside: Wuxie Lake Scenic Area, Taoyuan Scenic Area, Dongyuan and Xiyuan. The so-called ‘xie’ means waterfall. There is a five-fold waterfall in the scenic area, which is a major attraction of the scenic area. The scenery of Wuxie is different in different seasons.
You can play in the water in summer, see red leaves in autumn, and see ginkgo in early winter. The scenery is very good. After entering the scenic area, you must first take a boat across Wuxie Lake at the dam pier. After getting off at Tianyibi Pier, you can start to walk and play. The transportation into the scenic area is divided into two types: free scheduled boats and paid yachts. The free scheduled boats run about every 45 minutes. Yachts are available at any time, but you need to pay an additional fee. After getting off the boat, walk about 500 meters to the battery car station. You can take a battery car through Taoyuan Scenic Area to Wuxie Temple (5 yuan). You can also walk on the footpath on the left. It takes about 20 minutes to arrive. The drop-off station of the battery car is also the intersection of Dongyuan and Xiyuan. Wuxie Waterfall and Wuxie Temple are in Dongyuan. Xiyuan can be climbed. The two sides are connected at the top of the mountain. Usually tourist groups only go to Dongyuan to see Wuxie Waterfall and then return the same way. If you have enough time, you can choose to go up the mountain from one side by yourself, cross Ziwei Ridge, and go down the mountain from the other side without retracing your steps. In comparison, the scenery of Dongyuan is more classic, but some places have relatively steep steps. While Xiyuan is a relatively flat and easy cement path with fewer tourists. Usually go up the mountain from Dongyuan. In front of Wuxie Temple near the entrance of Dongyuan, there is a thousand-year-old ginkgo tree, which is a scene of Wuxie. Walking from bottom to top, there are the fifth waterfall to the first waterfall in turn. The shapes of each waterfall are different. The fifth waterfall has a large amount of water and a magnificent momentum. The higher up the waterfall, the more graceful and beautiful it is. When it comes to the first and second waterfalls, the waterfalls are very small and gentle. In summer, the waterfall area is very cool and is a good place to escape the heat. Continuing up, you will reach Liulongping in the transition area between Dongyuan and Xiyuan. There is a tea room here where you can have tea and take a break. Not far ahead is Ziwei Ridge, the highest point. Standing on the peak is a great feeling and the scenery is also good. Crossing Ziwei Ridge, you will arrive at Xiyuan. Xiyuan and Dongyuan are completely different scenes. Although they are both valleys, here are wet mountain paths and gurgling streams, which are extremely fresh and quiet. There is no momentum and roar of Dongyuan at all. Go down the mountain easily along the footpath and you can return to the battery car station. Tourists usually spend three to five hours visiting the scenic area and then return to Zhuji, or transfer to a bus to continue visiting Xishi Hometown. If you want to stay here for a while longer, there are tea rooms and restaurants in Dongyuan and Xiyuan where you can have a meal. The prices are fairly reasonable. The small wooden houses near the fifth waterfall and the Wuxie Resort at the entrance of the scenic area can provide accommodation. The standard room is about two to three hundred yuan.Operating Hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 16:30.
