Located to the north of Wuzhen and bordering Wujiang County in Jiangsu, the boundary line is an ancient canal with a bridge named Taishi Bridge. Compared to the eastern, western, and southern sections, the North Fence is less prosperous and rarely visited by tourists. It has not yet been developed into a tourist area. There is an old saying: ‘At the head of Wuzhen North Fence, there is sky but no sun.’ However, as an old street of Wuzhen, North Fence retains the authentic charm of Wuzhen. Historical relics such as water pavilions, corridors, and stone bridges, old-style shops, bustling tea houses, and quaint narrow alleys all showcase the ancient and tranquil charm of North Fence.
