The South Gate is adjacent to the East Gate. It is an area that has not yet been developed into a scenic spot. In the simple and narrow alleyways, there are old houses and shops with wooden door panels. Most of the people living here are still locals. The old houses, old streets, and old bridges in the town still maintain their earlier appearance and are a good place for photography enthusiasts to collect creative materials. The South Gate is usually not on the itinerary of tourist groups and there is almost no commercial atmosphere. The buildings here are relatively intact. The relatively famous buildings include the brick-carved gate tower of Zhang Tongsheng’s residence and the ancient stage. Sometimes local characteristic drama performances can be seen on the stage. Residents along the street have also opened many small shops and sell some local characteristic trinkets. The steaming local snacks in the streets and alleys are also a scene.
Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
