Xianglu Peak, with an elevation of 354 meters, is renowned for its misty and enchanting atmosphere during cloudy and rainy weather, with its ‘Xianglu Mist and Rain’ being one of the 12 most famous scenic spots in Yue Zhong.

The Xianglu Zen Temple is the main attraction of Xianglu Peak. During the Southern Song Dynasty, the temple was already bustling with incense burners. It is said that a monk from the Song Dynasty enshrined a jade statue of Guanyin here, which was known as the Southern Tianzhu. Cai Yuanpei once inscribed the horizontal board with ‘Merciful Clouds Extensively Spread’ for the temple. In 1990, funded by overseas Chinese, the temple was rebuilt on the top of the peak. In 1993, the Zen Temple was expanded and now covers an area of 15,000 square meters. Every year on the 19th day of the second, sixth, and ninth lunar months, it is commonly known as the Xianglu Incense Market. The number of people who come to worship, offer incense, and visit is countless, showing a temporary prosperity. The opening time is from 5:00 to 17:00 all year round.
