Xianhua Mountain Scenic Area is situated in the lesser-known Pujiang County. Legend has it that Liu Bowen, upon passing by Xianhua Mountain, was captivated by the steep yet graceful scenery, the ethereal mist, and the lush greenery, which inspired him to pen the verse: ‘Xianhua stands out, quite peculiar, gazing upon it is like clouds floating in the vast sky.’ The prominent peaks are the highlights of the scenic area. The main activity here is to hike along the mountain trails to the higher Shaonv Peak, offering a beautiful bird’s-eye view of Pujiang City on clear days.
Upon entering the mountain gate, one arrives at the Zhaoling Square. To the left lies the West Route, and to the right is the East Route. The West Route is steeper and longer, yet it boasts more stunning scenery; the East Route is more gentle and easier to navigate. Both routes lead to Shaonv Peak, and by choosing one to ascend and the other to descend, one can avoid retracing their steps. It is important to note that there is a narrow section on Shaonv Peak where visitors must hold onto chains to climb, allowing only one person to pass at a time. Visitors with acrophobia should exercise caution. The scenic area is open year-round from 08:20 to 17:00. Preferential policies include: – Elderly: Half price for those aged 60 to 70 (inclusive of 60, exclusive of 70) with a senior citizen card or ID; free for those aged 70 and above (inclusive of 70) with a senior citizen card or ID. – Minors: Free for children under 1.2 meters (exclusive) or aged 6 (inclusive) and below. – Disabled: Free with a disability certificate. – Military personnel: Free for active-duty soldiers with an officer’s ID. – Journalists: Free with a press card issued by the State Press and Publication Administration. – Photographers: Free with a membership card from a provincial or higher-level photography association. – Blood donors: Free with a blood donation certificate of 4000cc or more. – Students: Half price for minors aged 6 (exclusive) to 18 (inclusive) and full-time undergraduate students with a student ID (excluding postgraduates and correspondence students).
