Xianju Scenic Area, the core of Xianju National Park, is historically known as Tianmu Mountain and also referred to as Weiqiang Mountain. The geological structure of Xianju is unique, being one of the world’s largest volcanic rhyolite landform clusters. Each mountain, water body, cliff, cave, stone, and peak has its own distinct style, forming six major wonders: ‘Avalokitesvara, Tianmu Peak, Sea of Clouds, Flying Waterfalls, Tadpole Script’, as well as eight major views: ‘Western Lotus Sail’, ‘Screen of Painting and Mist’, ‘Buddhist Sea and Chant’, ‘Thousand Cliffs Dripping with Green’, ‘Plow Ridge Sunset’, ‘Wind Shaking Spring Waves’, ‘Heavenly Scripture Tadpole’, ‘Light Bamboo Listening to Springs’.
Within the scenic area, the base of the mountain features the canyon scenery of Jiangnan, with forests and springs interdependent, known for its strange rocks, majestic waterfalls, deep valleys, dense caves, clear waters, and beautiful mists. On the mountaintop, thousands of peaks stand tall, creating a grand atmosphere. Taking the cable car up, the journey spans several kilometers along a hundred-meter-high plank road, with melodious bird songs and ever-changing scenery, as if walking through a painting.
