Xiao Pang Valley is located in the Da Shu Xiang alley of Ding Jia Wan, which was purchased and renovated by Zhou Fu, the Governor of the Two Rivers during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty in 1904. The garden features towering artificial mountains, treacherous paths, protruding rocks that reach into the water, and deep, serene valleys. The winding stone paths give the garden its name, ‘Xiao Pang Valley’.
The layout of Xiao Pang Valley is meticulous, adapting to local conditions and creating scenes according to the natural form. The arrangement of mountains, water, architecture, and waterfronts within the garden is unique and well-thought-out. The cliffs are steep, the valleys deep and winding, with corridors and halls following the terrain’s twists and turns, and hidden paths leading to secluded areas. Despite being man-made, it resembles a natural landscape painting.
Opening hours: 09:00-11:00 and 14:00-16:00 all year round.
