Xiao Yao Jin Park is located at the northeast corner of Hefei’s old city area. It was historically a ferry crossing with a bridge, and during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the park served as a private garden for bureaucrats and landlords, successively occupied by the Dou, Wang, and Gong families. After meticulous restoration and management in modern times, Xiao Yao Jin has become a comprehensive park within Hefei city, boasting a beautiful environment and pleasant scenery.
The park is naturally divided into eastern and western sections by water systems. It is densely packed with attractions; the eastern section is designated as a youth activity area and children’s paradise, equipped with a variety of entertainment facilities, making it an ideal spot for family tourism.
In the southeast corner lies the zoo, which once housed rare birds and beasts, as well as a diverse array of aquatic creatures, although most animals have now been relocated to the Hefei Wildlife Park. The northeast corner features the Lu Zhuang for visitors to enjoy tea and rest, as well as a boat dock for those who wish to row and cruise.
