The Xin’anjiang River is renowned for its exquisite waters, and the Xin’anjiang Hydropower Station built upon it adds an impressive grandeur. It not only pioneers large-scale water conservancy projects in China but also amazes with its scale. The dam stands 105 meters high and 100 meters wide. From the top of the dam, one can overlook the meticulously planned Xin’anjiang New Town and the crystal-clear Gorge Lake, offering a broad view that allows visitors to forget the hustle and bustle of the city, and indulge in the beautiful scenery of mountains, waters, and landscapes.
Apart from the panoramic view, the Xin’anjiang Hydropower Station also provides visitors with the opportunity to closely observe the spectacle of waterfalls. If fortunate enough to visit during flood discharge, one can witness the large waterfall formed by the convergence of Thousand Islands Lake waters plummeting a hundred meters, crashing into the river, and enjoying the coolness brought by the splashing waves. Thanks to excellent ecological protection, the surrounding environment of the Xin’anjiang Hydropower Station is lush with greenery, and fish slowly swim in the clear waters. Whether for relaxation, summer cooling, or getting close to nature, this is a must-visit scenic spot in the Jiangnan region.
Opening hours are from 8:00 to 17:00 all year round.
