Located in the heart of the water town of Xinghua, known as the ‘land of fish and rice’, the museum was established in 1959. In 1993, the new museum building was constructed, and it operates under the same management system as the Zheng Banqiao Memorial Hall and Shi Nai’an Memorial Hall. After half a century of development, the museum now houses approximately 2456 pieces of cultural relics, including ceramics, porcelain, bronze ware, gold and silver items, jade, and calligraphy and painting. Among these, there are 41 second-level national cultural relics and 39 third-level cultural relics. The museum’s treasures include genuine calligraphy and paintings by Zheng Banqiao and a silver ingot unearthed from the Tang Dynasty. The museum also oversees the former residences of Zheng Banqiao and Liu Xizai, forming a ‘one body, two wings’ structure with the Xinghua City Museum. It plays a significant role in the spiritual civilization construction of Xinghua City and serves as an important window for external promotion, greatly enhancing the city’s reputation.

Opening hours: From April 8th to June 30th, 08:30-11:30 and 13:30-17:00; From July 1st to September 30th, 08:30-11:30 and 14:00-17:30; From October 1st to December 31st, 08:30-11:30 and 13:30-17:00. Entry is stopped half an hour before closing.

The museum’s service facilities include a souvenir shop: one operated by the museum and one by an individual. The tourist area operates with a sound management system, clear job responsibilities for management personnel, and established systems for product quality management and pricing, creating a trustworthy shopping environment. The shopping venues primarily offer travel souvenirs and antiques, such as collections of famous painters and commemorative badges from the Zheng Banqiao Art Festival, which are highly favored by tourists.
